The Houses:
Ronald McDonald House near Hope Children’s Hospital

We are proud to announce that we will be opening our FOURTH Ronald McDonald House in 2008! The House will be located near Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn.
For many years, staff and supporters of Hope Children's Hospital have been working towards building a "guest house" for the parents of critically-ill children being treated at their hospital. In early 2005, RMHC-CNI learned about the need for housing for these parents and agreed to partner with Hope and its supporters to build a Ronald McDonald House.
Through an agreement between RMHC-CNI and Oak Lawn Community High School District 229, the Ronald McDonald House will be built on land directly across the street from the hospital at the corner of 93rd Street and Kostner Avenue. Families will be only minutes away from their children in the hospital.
The House will have 16 bedrooms with private baths. As with all of our Houses, our families will have access to welcoming common spaces that provide the comfort of home: a play room, game room, large kitchen, several living areas, library, and even outdoor patios to enjoy.
Our Groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 1, 2007. Supporters from the hospital, school district, and community all came to show their support. WGN's Health Reporter, Dina Bair emceed the ceremony. While speeches by House Council members Bill Keyser and Ryan Schiff along with Mayor Dave Heilmann brought a heartfelt touch to the day.
Construction has begun and we hope to open our doors to families in fall of 2008!
